Lots of travel in October!

October is always a busy month, and October 2013 is no exception.  I spent the first part of this week at a Grosvenor Center for Geographic Education and National Geographic Society "Reading the Road Map" conference.  It was a fast and furious two days drafting a series of responses to the NSF-funded Road Map to Geographic Literacy Research Committee report.  More photos to come from my Mississippi Council for the Social Studies Fall Conference in Natchez, Mississippi later this week.

Former student, Greg Kennedy, interviewed me for a project in another course. Here is the "raw" footage on me talking about the National Geographic Giant Traveling Map of North America.

Welcome Spring Semester 2013!

Just a really quick post to welcome everyone back to another semester! Please take a moment to visit my newest effort on the World Wide Web -- RebelSocialStudies  A home for all things related to social studies education at the University of Mississippi.

It's not very pretty, nor is it very slick, but it is a start of a central place for all of our students and alumni.

Welcome back!
